Hey, I was checking out your build thread here and noticed you're looking to upgrade your cooling system. I'm running a CSF 3 core radiator (Under $200 shipped from Radiatorbarn.com), a Flowcooler water pump ($100 + shipping from Quadratec), New coolant hoses (Delco, normally stocked at most auto parts stores), a B&M Trans cooler ($60 from Summit Racing), and a Tuarus fan swap/mechanical fan delete. This setup is by far the most bulletproof cooling setup I've ever owned. On a cool day the Jeep wont even get above 200 degrees if I'm not sitting in traffic. Sitting in traffic the temp will rise to 220 degrees (Where I have the fan set to turn on) and in under a minute will drop back down to 200 degrees. Best part is, the taurus fan has two speeds... I don't even have the high speed hooked up. This cooling is all achieved by the low speed setting on the fan.

Thanks Kopecki!
This is the first step I have in mind for my 'cooling upgrade'
Hesco high flow water pump, Hesco high flow thermostat housing and a Superstat from Stant 195 degrees.
I want to see what that does before moving on. I have read about people putting in great cooling systems then having to put in flow reducers to keep it from cooling too much. Whats that all about?
The Taurus fan is on the radar and I will replace the upper and lower hoses along with the heater hoses when I change out the pump, housing and stat.
My question is: I have a OME tranny cooler, do you think changing it for a B&M Trans cooler would be worth the upgrade?

Sounds good. I was in a bind when my old water pump went and I decided to upgrade, so I went with the less expensive FlowKooler unit. I don't regret it at all... It does exactly what I need it to. The CSF radiator and Tuarus fan are the two upgrades I would absolutely recommend, and for the price you really can't go wrong.
If you will be going with bigger tires I would DEFINITELY recommend it. It's SUPER easy to install and a very high quality unit. (Thing's sturdy as hell)

My throttle body should be here tomorrow from thexjfiles. I keep hearing how they add better performance and the price was right.
I am gong to paint it blue just to give it a little different look from the rest of the engine.

Ok, Ok, I finally got the throttle body and installed it this last weekend. I have to admit that it was easier than I though it would be and it really did give Babajeep more off the line power teamed with the Mustang injectors.
I decided to paint it blue before doing the install and I love the way it looks.

It is board out to 60mm any more at $4.20 a gallon and I could not afford to drive it

because I can not keep off the skinny pedal, it too much fun feeling the extra power.

All it takes is to put the sensors from the old throttle body on the new throttle body and

bolt it back on then

hook everything back up

Don't forget the gasket.
Well, I am very happy with this upgrade. For about $150 delivered to my door and 1.5 hours of easy work for both the Mustang injectors and the 60mm throttle body I have perceivable power increase and hopefully no MPG loss.

OK, all the places I would like to go are snowed in with 2 to 3 feet of snow. Lower down anything that looked interesting is still closed by the Forest Service.

The good news is that my Back Bone Bumper was shipped last Friday and I ordered a Super Winch on Friday too. I got a great quote on a 3" lift from Grimmus. It is an offer I can not refuse. So this means I have time to install some goodies before the 'season' starts.

OK I got two new pieces for Babajeep today. Keeping in the direction of
First the guy in brown brought a Viair 400P Portable Compressor so I can air down and back up on the trail.

Then something a little over board maybe is an ultra small CB radio. the Cobra 75 WX ST is a CB that fits in your hand. I just could not decide where to mount the CB so when I found this I though this will solve this problem. I just need to hang the Mic and I am done. Next I will get the Antenna Mount from PLUMCRAZY and I am ready to go.

All this and I have still so much to do. This is turning into a life time project. Brilliant!
- Do some performance upgrades
- Winch, recovery and safety
- Cooling upgrades ( it will be summer buy then)
- Lift and Tires
- Re-gear and move from LSD to lunch box locker

Ya shoulda' did the A/C compressor to OBA conversion. 100% duty cycle and a whole lot quicker than any electric compressor. Those portable compressors are pretty neat though... and at least it's Viair!

No AC!?! I did think of that, move the AC to an OBA system but it is my DD and in the upper Sacramento Valley in summer you are looking at 100+degree days and I could blame it on the wife but I too like the AC on those days. Call me whimmpy
.I got to install the CB and I see it as a All Day Project (ADP) running the wire inside the cab above the rockrail under the plastic to the dashboard. I can hardly wait

My CB install wasn't one of my favorites, but it wasn't too bad. Just make sure you don't ever coil your antenna wire. If you have extra cable, run it down an interior piece and back.

Thanks Kopecki, I would have coiled the extra antenna wire if I had any. I only got 18' so I just hope I have enough.
Rough Country 3" lift came yesterday, yeah. Anybody want to have some fun some weekend and help?
Still waiting on Detours winch bumper and the Superwinch and the wife has me booked the next three weekends. Good thing it is staying light longer in the evenings.

If you were closer I'd definitely give you a hand with that lift.
The reason you never want to coil antenna wire is because whenever you coil a wire with any electrical charge through it it will create a small magnetic field. That small magnetic field destroys the reception quality of the antenna/radio. It won't do any permanent damage.... But it won't work to its full potential when coiled. This info was given to me by my neighbor who works for Mack trucks installing CB radios.

Detours came through with the Back Bone and Amazon came through with the Superwinch. Woot! Now I need to look at what we are doing the next few weeks and see how much I can get done..... or for you folks down south...Getterdone.
