so my rear 8.25 has been acting funny after the last time i wheeled it for about 2 months now i'd get an akward pop here and then when i backed up or made uturns so i started saving just in case it took a crap. about last week all hell broke loose and my jeep was barely drivable so i went ahead and tried to drive over and drop it off at my work. my luck pulled onto the main road and both shafts broke free inside.

 

so got to work this morning and got her all torn down axle and everything went pretty smoothly easier than i had planned. only pain was the ebrake cables having to take apart the entire drum kinda ticked me off. thinking about doing a disc brake conversion pretty soon. opened her up and it wasnt looking pretty. i probably should have been driving on it like this haha but o well. thought i had a dana 44 pinned down at a salvage yard. called them back today and they told me it was a grand cherokee 44 with the aluminum housing dont want that so i settled for another 8.25.
