Test fit was a great success.

Not to fear Bomberman, I've been through your thread start to finish (as with basically every build thread in the first 5 pages of that sub). After doing a test feel for myself I agree with your strategy. Had I gone with 1.5" angle I might be more inclined to point it out, but since I got 1" I think that pointing in will work better. I may or may not also add some flat bar to further the in the angle and 2x6.

A side rail is very nice. I use it often and am happy I have it vs not, it's a good step and can support the jeep by them. I used DOM tubing on mine. I think we cut mine at 64"s if I recall correctly.

As much as I would love to add some rails to these rockers it isn't in the cards at the moment.

I realized I never did get pictures of how the angle iron was welded to mine. Here's my buddy's build page with good pictures of the angle iron and how we did ours. Also he has a nice build too https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/ad...228086/index3/

Driver's side is finally pretty well patched up, angle burned in, 2X6s capped and frame rail mostly cleaned for stiffening.

Didn't have much time to spend on it last night, but the 2x6 is in.

It is stitched most of the way around, but I still want to go through and finish it all off just to have 100% coverage. Also still need to crawl under to get the stiffener on and then I can move on to tie ins.

Now it's about 95% stitched, and then I ran out of wire. I really need to find a bigger spool. Since I wasn't going to be getting any more welding done last night I went ahead and took a wire wheel and flap disc to the rest of the driver's side floor. Finished it off for the night with a coat of primer. I did find another spot that I'll need to patch up and then I can actually start seam sealing this side.

Hectic week, but finally got some more time to work on the xj.

All of the plug/rosette welds are done, but still need to go back and stitch up the perimeter.

What do you plan on using to tie the stiffeners and 2x6s together?

I picked up some 2x2x1/4" when I got the 2x6s. Kinda wish I had gone with 1x3, but oh well.

Nice. I did 2x3 3/16' tube angled and notched to tuck up as much as possible.

My plan is to do them very much like yours, but with 2x2. I'm out of town this weekend and with street car takeover in town next weekend I'm going to be dividing my attention between xj and race truck the week. Hoping to actually wrap up the driver's side at the very least.

Well no new pics of the Jeep because honestly there aren't many visual changes. Stiffener and 2x6 are completely welded and under side of floor pan laps are tacked up. Still need to make the tie ins and then I'll finally be able to seam sealer and paint.

Since I typically try not to post an update without pictures here's one of the race truck's new fuel rail. Spent way too much time this afternoon modifying the standoffs for it so that the injectors would properly seal against the intake. I did finally manage to get a seal though and spent a bit of time test driving and updating the tune for the larger injectors.

Well, I spent most of my time in the garage this evening rplacirep the master cylinder in my truck and test driving it. I did manage however to make a template for the tie ins. Nothing special, basically just a triangle.
