So the good news as of late is my engine does not require a rebuild. That's a small victory. Other than that the hits keep on coming.
My tcase has been a problem since I bought the truck and continues to be. Unknown to me during one of my break in sessions of the novak cable system the tcase didn't fully release 4x4 so I've been driving around in partial 4wd for the past few months.
Going to try the Frolich tcase linkage to see if that is a simpler fix that fabbing a bracket to correct the shifter angle for the novak system.
Other items being addressed are:
IRO long arms being replaced with a 4 link set from Ironman Fab
All bolt on mounting points IE trac bar, cross member, etc are being welded in.
Trussing the D30 with the Artec kit
Moving to the PSC hydro assist steering setup.
Its strange, I feel like I've been here before.....

I would say I didn't notice cause I've got the truetrac up front. Plus I don't have anything to really compare it to. The thing has always driven kinda rough. Id say it felt more like select trac that true 4x4 hi if that makes sense.

To keep is short this was back before XJ's were cheap to work on. I melted a tranny on I95 south a few miles from 26 in South Carolina heading back to Jax. 4 hour tow, 3k for a new trans and a whole lot of pissed off Dad. I was lucky to survive that one.
