First.... ::: BUMP :::
Just wanted to say, I just finished all the pages - AMAZING work at a fraction of the cost the part changing shops want!
Great job so far - keep it up
I found my 96 XJ AHB in Pa, not far from my home state of Wv
repairs needed : NSS - yar -_-
CKP - typical
CPS - proceeding above almost everytime, right?
Looking forward to doing a write up much like you did
hope to get good responses and all the perks of ACTUALLY reading
these forums, and finding the XJ write ups like yours
Thanks again

So today I ditched my thrush turbo muffler and went to a glasspack. All I can say is wow this thing is like 20X better the turbo. The turbo resonated terribley and would give me and my passenger headakes. The glasspack is just as loud but it sounds cleaner and has a much more refined sound. In the next few days I just need to get the tail pipe back on it and it will be much better. Pics later.

So finally got that the tailpipe on I went over to the local Tuffy and they wanted 140 to bend and install a new one. Well I wouldnt pay that much so i decided to just get a flex pipe, a peice of 2.5" tubing, and a tip and call it done.
Here are the pics

I also straitened the front brake lines in preperation for the lift in a few monthes. I couldnt find much info on this so i'll explain it a bit here.
I pulled the wheel and tire off and found that the end section of the hard line is held on by one torx screw so i removed that.

From there I Straitened the top angle.

Then bent the bottom part so it does not kick out sideways

Next you must re-mount it. This requires drilling 2 holes. One for the top pin that keeps the bracket from piveting and one for the bottom screw.

From there you just insert the pin into your drilled hole and put in a self tapping screw.
And your done your front lines now have enough slack for your 3-4" lift.

Got my extended shackles today in the mail. Good to lift the rear another 1.5-2 inches and I also have coil spacers coming. Both are used and I got a good deal on them. The shackles are greasable and I got those for 25 shipped and the Spacers for 20 Shipped. I have to repaint the shackles cause there pretty rough but other than that there nice. I will have pics in the next few days here.

Got the shackles cleaned up today sanded them down and bedlined em.
Before

After

Also got the spacers today they measure 1.75" so they'll work well with the 3" lift coils.

One is slightly worked but i dont think its an issue

Just need to pick up some sway bar endlinks (Rough Country disconnects), maybe some shims for the leaf packs and im gonna go with some 33" Goodyear Duratracs. Then start looking into a Hack n' Tap SYE.
