Alright this is what I'm talking about guys! =) You guys may think this is rusty but this ain't nothing compared to what else is here up in New england. During the build I only snapped two bolts, which was for one of the rear shocks. An Acetylene torch does wonders! So do hammers and breaker bars and ratchet straps. =)

Anyway! So since I got it back in my garage I've been working on cleaning up the look after doing some fender work and new rockers. I had to do some more fiberglass work on the passenger side rear fender and once I did that I sanded the passenger side down smooth, taped it off, primed the spots that exposed bare metal, sanded it smooth again and then painted it with two coats from two spray cans of Rust-oleum Bed liner from walmart.

Now I have to do the drivers side! Damn! The passenger side was enough work! I wish I had air and a DA in my garage. I'm also working in the doors and at the bottoms of the doors sanding that down to prime and paint with more bedliner and also attempting to clean up as much as I can underneath, all the old undercoat and rust. My goal is to one day have the whole thing painted with bedliner and then I can paint over that from there. I also still have to pick up spacer plates for the rear wheels, I need to make up some quick and cheap fender flares, get it inspected, get an alignment, it looks like I need to drop the pitman arm aswell. So much work, never ending.

What do you guys think?

Long time no update. I've been plenty busy with school and work. I also have a number of other project ATV's and a dd grand cherokee that I need to keep servicing.

Well, I've done some repairs on my Grand Cherokee, I've been working on restoring a 1986 LT125 and a 1989 Breeze four-wheeler, as well as fixing up my Z400 and I most recently bought a KFX700 I did a number of repairs to get it up and running good.

Now back to the Cherokee! I had to fix a hole in the rear quarter on the drivers side, used some kitty hair fiberglass and body filler, sanded it all down and painted that side. Then I sanded the passenger side door jams and painted those with POR-15 and laid down some grip tape, I then made my fender flares out of garden lining, I got it inspected, installed a hitch on the front and back, bought a shackle mount and shackle for the hitch's, and I've got an alignment scheduled this monday. I also presented the jeep to my school since it was a school project after all. Now time for the pictures!

Got it at walmart! Attached with self tapping screws. It was easy with the way I trimmed my fenders, I just bent the tabs back down and self tapped into them. The rear fenders I didnt have those tabs though, I had to buy some small pieces of steel and bend them into place underneath for the rear.

You could bend and weld a metal rod along the lip of the fender and you could weld some tabs of some thin steel on the rod and so you could have something to screw into while keeping a clean looking lip?

It's been quite awhile since I've updated this. I've been plenty busy with work and such. Money's been going towards bill's, food, gas, tool's for work. I am a fleet mechanic for the local Concrete and Construction company; I work on Chevy and Ford Pickups mostly however I do get to work on plenty of other stuff, trailers, big rigs, dump trucks, CAT equipment, Mack, International, Volvo, Freightliner, etc.

Anyhow! For awhile I had my Jeep the way I had left off. I did get around to installing an SYE kit:

That was definitely worth the money in my opinion. I ran it in one local mud bog around town for the first time, I was suprised to learn what my Jeep was capable of!

After cleaning up the Jeep I figured it was time to start wrenching on it again, winter came and so my Jeep has begun it's hibernation on jack stands in my garage. My money has been going towards parts and tools!

I bought a used set of 15'' steel rims with a deeper offset which should take care of my rubbing problem. They were originally white but have been beat and had a half *** paint job along with some rust so after a day's worth of taking wire wheel's to them and then prepping them I painted them with POR15 and then mounted them on my 33's:

My directional's were acting up again however when I jiggled the key they would start working again, so I went ahead and replaced the ignition switch:

my brake line had busted in the rear and my left front line wasn't looking too good either. I ended up bending, cutting, shaping, flaring and installing all new copper brake lines throughout my entire jeep using my recently purchased Mastercool flaring kit I had bought for work. I also replaced my brake hoses with Rough Country extended, steel braided brake hoses. In the front I replaced my front rotors, pads and calipers. I also replaced my front wheel bearing/hub assemblies, and I wire wheeled and painted my front spindles with POR15. When I went to begin bleeding the brakes I found how rusty my rear bleed valves were and actually snapped one so I had to replace my rear wheel cylinders as well.

My upper boot of my drag link was torn and with that I took up the opportunity to upgrade my steering with some more beefy products. I bought a Currrie Enterprise's setup including a new Drag link, Tie rod and ends:

You may also notice in the above picture I also have replaced my BDS track bar with a heavy duty Rubicon Express track bar with a track bar drop bracket that will eliminate my bump steer.

While I am working on the front end I went ahead and ordered JKS extended quick disconnect sway bar links and sway bar bushings:

With my Jeep hibernating on jack stand's I have gone ahead and changed the oil, oil filter, trans fluid and trans filter. I also took up the opportunity to upgrade my diff cover's with SOLID diff cover's when I went to change the diff fluid.

Currently I am changing the front axle u-joints however I came across a problem with my passenger side axle shaft with the new u-joints spinning in the yoke so now I need front axle shafts... SO MUCH MONEY BEING INVESTED! =(

I also have ordered a JCR gas tank skid and transfer case skid.

Once I get the front axle shafts/u-joint situation done I can tighten down the front end, grease it up and drive it over to my buddies to have the wheels balanced and the new front end aligned.

Over all, since my last update, and in the time that I have had my Jeep hibernating this winter on jack stands in my garage, I have:

- Installed an SYE kit
- Bought, painted w/ POR15 and mounted 15'' steel rims with deeper offset
- Changed fluids and filters
- Replaced ignition switch
- Made all new brake lines throughout the jeep
- Replaced rear wheel cylinders
- Installed RC extended steel braided brake hoses
- Replaced front rotors, pads and calipers
- Replaced front hub assemblies/wheel bearings
- Painted front spindles with POR15
- Installed Currie enterprises Drag link, tie rod and ends
- Installed Rubicon Express HD track bar and drop bracket
- Installed SOLID diff covers front and rear
- Bought JKS extended quick disconnect sway bar links and sway bar bushings
- Bought rear tailgate shocks
- Bought JCR gas tank skid and Transfer case skid
- Currently working on front axle shafts + U-joints

Next on the list will be get it rolling again, get it aligned and balanced. I will then change the coolant and thermostat, add a trans cooler, figure a snorkel, upgrade the headlights, maybe wire some reverse lights, and tackle some more rust?

Phew! Just Empty Every Pocket sounds about right. Good thing I have a solid job I enjoy! Thoughts guys?!
