Oh boy, what fun that must of been. At least you were home and not crossing the intersection with fire shooting out the side.

But.... That would have been cool (no pun intended).

Got the new calipers and pads today. I'm going to try and use the rotors since they should still be ok. I'll make the call once I get it all torn apart. Trying to decide if I'm going to do it outside or haul it to my father in laws shop.

In other news I sold my rear bumper which made $50 for the new rear bumper to match the front. 100 more to go, which I will get back from the core return on the calipers... So that may come sooner than later

Also, got my light bar. It's a 27" from tractor supply from my dad. Going to make a mount for the top of the XJ that can be reused for a 50" one day and move the 27 to the bumper.

Update!

Front bumper is getting a facelift. A person I met in a local jeep club is fabbing up a winch plate and reinforcement bars so I can mount my winch and it be super sturdy. Also adding a stinger to the mix!!

I'm looking into rear bumper ideas still. Grabbed these off google and thinking about a cross between them. (See below)

I've saved up enough to get new wheel bearings up front. The driver one is totally on the way out. Squeezing like a stuck pig.

Annnnd I am picking up a 2001 WJ. It is a steal and literally couldn't pass it up. Like the guy literally said "you want it, it's yours. Free". Red 4WD with a blown V8. It's gonna be my little side project since I don't need it on the road yet. I'll probably be selling my grey WJ once the red one is fixed. Interior needs some care and the engine obviously needs replaced. Shouldn't take too much time right???? Lol

I'm also looking into doing rear shackle relocators and an additional 1.5 boost up front. I'll do a TC drop and look into the SYE's. That's down the road, depending on how much this WJ is gonna end up being.

Ordered the timikin wheel bearings today. $145 hurt my wallet but well worth buying quality.

Fender trim sometime next week hopefully

Got the WJ. Engine is bad. I'm gonna look at how much it may take to repair it myself. There is a local high school that is a technical school with auto body and mechanic classes. I can donate the jeep to them for the semester and they do all the work under the oversight of a master mechanic. I would just pay for parts. If it's going to cost more than what I can part it for, then I'll part it. It's got the full skid package with tow hooks and factory hitch. If I part it I'll be taking stuff for my other WJ that runs just fine. I'll probably end up just paying bills with whatever I make off it.

And pics.

It was going to my driveway but my father in law let me put it in his garage. Yay!

Im new to the forum, and Jeeps in general. Well trained in mostly all automotive, but never had the privilege of the Jeep life.

Let me just say, YOUR BUILD IS MY NEW LIFE GOAL!

Haha thanks! I calculated the hours I have spent working on the jeep and multiplied by $45 for an hourly labor cost a shop might charge. I've saved something like $2,000 on work by doing it all myself. And I've learned so much in the process. DIY is the only way to go if your able.

Picked up some pro comp xtremes today. Stayed at 31" but these look good all around. Also got word my winch build up is almost done. I'm probably going to buy a stinger bar pre bent instead of diy. Hoping that I can get the bearings done next week. Should look different come next Friday
