Lca drop brackets are pretty nice and cheap for a dual purpose street trail rig for saving money.
This thing screams fabbed front end... triangulation rear.
Those cut and fold patches look pretty damn good.
Thanks. I am thinking of fabbing some 3 link front and 4 link the rear, interior cage and seats with harnesses, custom aluminium console but for now I want to drive it so I'm putting it together to catch some snow I hope.
Ok here is a helpful thing I learned about replacing the door hinge pins.
1. Use a die grinder with a carbide bit to cut the original pin out it takes like 5 min. Use oil to lube the carbide bit and go slow. Meaning don't push hard just enough to cut and grind the pin away a little at a time. Definitely use eye protection it's going to throw out some shards of metal that will stick in your hands if you don't have gloves on. The pin is hardened some what but not as hard as carbide.
2. Then to install the pins back in I built this press from 2x4 tubing. Like 3/16 thick or so. I drilled a 1/2" hole centered and 5/8" back from the edge of the tube. Then I used a grade 5 bolt on a nut I had and welded it to the tube where the hole is. I ran the bolt in some to align the nut before welding. I first tried to just use the bolt without the plate (1 1/2"×1/4") scrap I had but the bolt will want to come off the pin. After I added the plate a socket I was using to press the pin in with was too long. I made the small bushing you see and it fits now. Thus thing works great to press the pin in.
3. I tried to use a 6 inch C-clamp but it wouldn't work. I even used a cheater pipe on the clamp but ended bending the handle and the c clamp I think was deflecting.
the carbide cutter I used.
This looks so good. I love the attention to detail. Nice work.
Thanks. It been a little over a year to get this far. No whete near finished but I'm getting ready to start it up today or tomorrow I hope. Still a bunch of plans. Cage, suspension seats, harnesses, fender extentions, rear bumper with tire carrier, probably build a front 3 link, rear 4 link. It never ends.

I'm beyond jealous of your shop. I have a lot of similar plans on my Jeep besides the cage, and mine is currently on jack stands in the driveway with no axles. Trying to get drivable in 5 weekends! My next step are the frame stiffeners, which I'm a little worried about, will be my first big welding project. I bought some Raptor Liner to spray the underside/fenders as well.

In your build process, did you consider doing 1 tons with full width?
