'97 Back 2 Black Restore...
I've had this Jeep a little over a year now and have finally decided what direction to go with it.. I intend to keep it mostly stock and restore it with mild mods along the way.. First up, complete 2 stage repaint to factory specs. I'm ordering a complete 3.5" RE kit from SeriousOffRoad along with Bilstein 5100 and a few other goodies hopefully by the end of the week.
Then its off for some wheels and tires..
I moved in May and in the process had my Jeep parked at my sister in laws for about a week, a few days after bringing the Jeep home I noticed someone lightly tapped the back drivers corner, cracking the tail-light and putting a nice crease in the body.. It may have even been one of my new neighbors needless to say no one copped to it..
Here are a few pics of where I'm at now, I will try to upload some older pics off my phone later, but I came home early from work at went back to some body work..
I also scored a much needed front header along with bumper and halogen lights for $80 at a local JY.
This XJ is completely free from any rust whatsoever, and the repair you see at the rocker is from PO trying to rock climb or something as there was a big dent underneath. PO also sprayed primer over the badly peeling clear coat on the hood so I had to strip it..
Undecided on what type of rack I want to put on it but I intend to keep the flares and have it mostly stock in appearance but will also upgrade muffler and add a cat (doesn't have one )
This is the paint I intend to use, (color) PX9
My JY score !!
more updates and pics to come as time allows..

Thanks... Hopefully I wont need the luck on the painting part I have a lot of experience painting cars, however have very limited suspension knowledge..
From what I hear its pretty straight forward so hopefully I won't run into the occasional snag along the way.. I'm feeling a little hesitant on my decision for a 3.5" lift now (yet again) and I'm considering a 4.5" with 33s.. but I'm afraid if I do this I may encounter more problems down the road, thus more money...

Low center of gravity. What people do is to put a small lift on and trim out a lot of fenders. Some remove front fenders entirely and put on large sized tires. Help with balance.
