So I bought a wore out 92 xj from a college kid who wasn't mechanically inclined for $500. He said the cylinder head was cracked and the ball joints needed replacing. Either way I knew it was a steal of my lifetime. Already had a 3" lift with decent tires and everything electrical worked. So when I towed it home and started digging into it turns out the head wasn't cracked he blew the gasket! Once together I fired it up and she purred nicely especially with high miles 220k. Drove it for a week up and down the road to find anymore gremlins and the fuel pump went out. Replaced that with a new filter. So far for a $650 rig it's a great investment. Now the bnext order of business is to start with the suspension and steering. With everthing being as hold as me it's time for upgrades.
● new bushing and joints all four corners
● new steering linkage and joints
● all new weatherstripping
● matching set of tires
● 4 or 5 inch lift
● drivetrain rebuild
● engine rebuild ( maybe striker 4.6)
Then after the important tarts to make it reliable then the exterior goodies
