Default 92 xj (cheap jeep)

Picked up a 1992 laredo here about three weeks ago for about 400 bucks, it overheated, had bald tires, bad blower motor, needed a new exhaust manifold, other misc. exhaust work and all that fun stuff. Some pictures of when I got it to where it is now..

Still need a header by chance? And a great start, the lower offset wheels always makes Xj's look great!

welp its been a while, my grandpa passed away recently, I finally graduated from high school, but i have done quite a bit with the jeep. I broke down and decided to go with a rough country 6.5 long arm lift, to tell the truth the guys that went with iron rock off road look like they have a ton more flex, now i wish i saved my pennies. I also added in a cobra 29 ltd chrome edition cb with pa system and weather broadcasting. I also with the lift installed a gift from the "shop fairy" an advanced adaptors sye. I have upgraded from the 235-75-r16 to 285-75-r16. I now have a set of three new bfgoodrich all terrains that are 315-75-16, but still need another. I also recently replaced the rear pinion seal and added two kenwood excelon 12's with 1000 watt max 300 rms kenwood amp. My uncle also gave me a big ***** brush guard, but im going to build a bumper here at the end of summer, mostly because i need some pull points and a mounting point for the warn winch i was given by my adopted grandpa. However i was looking at a superwinch, because the one i have is in pieces. Also for things to come i was thinking 20 to 15 percent window tint, any one got the same body style jeep with this look?
anyway here are a bunch of pics, mostly just poser ones, but winter hasnt rolled around yet so not too much wheeling is being done.

I wouldn't tint them that dark...maybe 50% on the hatch, & 35% on the rest..that way you can still see during night wheeling/backing up..

Deffinetly do the hatch glass lighter.

alright so I thought the black on white would look pretty good, so I found a guy on craigslist who did tinting, got the whole thing done in 20 percent, il probably have him redo the driver window, as there is steel wool stuck in the tint, so for people looking to do there own tint in the future DO NOT use steel wool, im finding little shreds here and there, the guy that did my ranger used disposable razors with the plastic handle, works just as good with no mess. I also went and found another two 315-75-16 bgf all terrain baja champions on craigslist, got em for 50 bucks, so now i have a set of 35s with a spare, all 90 percent or better and all for 150$ Went to les schwab to get my tires put on my rims and half the guys there got there panties in a bunch trying to explain to me that the wheels wouldnt fit, and i would just tear em up, i told em put them on, they unwillingly did, and they fit fine, and barely rubber, solved that problem with a propane torch, vise grips, and a razor blade. Finally done with most of hay season and now im doing miscellaneous jobs, got my cdl permit, and im spending money left and right on the heep. granted im putting 3/4 of what im making in the bank to pay for school, but still. THINGS TO COME: Just order bushwacker flares, hopefully the flat style, but i may have messed up, idk il find out tomorrow. Im also looking at doing the durango steering box upgrade. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=XST
Im also looking at throwing some cash at beefier steering, thought this might fit the build. Now with 35s im sure some steering box bracing will also help, i do drive this like a race car and do not look foreword to cracking the mounts, or ripping it off entirely, so this weekend im planning on building a brace, and a plate. also got 4 procomp lights off craigs with a kc bar for 65 bucks all works and what not, but that bar wont, oh well gives me a reason to build stuff, along with lights im also thinking dual battery and upgraded alternator, however time as well as cash will tell. check out the pics

UPDATE!! well i guess theres alot that has happened since my last update, first off, did flat fenders on the jeep, quite a project, but if you start in the beginning of the day it should last till 5, that is if you have close to nothing to do the job. I found it easiest to just use an angle grinder, a sharpie or something similar, grease pen, with cutting discs and grinding discs so you can take those sharp edges down. I also taped off the fenders before adding the flairs and spray painted the exposed metal then sprayed rubberized undercoating on top to help deter rust. Second upgrade, new starter, old one died at a buddies house, so two bolts and some wires and i was done. Next up was the durango steering box upgrade, which was the one from a 98 to 99 v8 durango without the snow plow option. The upgrade was very easy, just time consuming, id suggest buying new hoses with everything, i also during the swap made myself a steel plate so the box wouldnt rip out. To do this i took the spacer thing that is next to the unibody frame and got my holes drilled, i still have my fender bracket so i had to cut and measure a few times but i got it. Now to the biggest update! bought myself a new to me yj, it cleans up ok, has a hard top, 4.0 ho, 5spd but sucks wheeling so far compared to the cherokee, same with ride quality, every damn bump rocks the damn thing because of such a short wheel base, but whatever for 2000 im not complaining. after fixing some stuff with the yj and adding a winch i started adding goodies to the xj, a local guy builds bumpers, and had one on craigs that looked funky because of the pictures, but turns out to look hella good on mine, oh and btw i entered my xj in a contest benefitting st Judes childrens hospital, il post up another post after this for it, but help or "likes" because its on fb, would be awesome, now for the fun pictures

So, this is a contest done by the cop4x4 fan page, or done by Camp Crocker, for those who dont know, makes some really cool jeeps, all of which usually run with a theme, i personally like his hemi jeeps, and his HUGE jku with like 52s, aka the kraken. But anyway, he has made paper models of his jeeps, and has decided to put on a contest to have one of his fan's jeeps made into a paper model. These models, quite a few, will be sent to Saint Judes Childrens hospital where the kids can have fun putting them together and playing with them, there are a few xjs in this contest, and i would love to see on win, preferably mine, but an xj at the least! So anyway, here is a link to the picture, feel free to like as you please, thanks guys!
