Looks like the retaining bolt/pin for the center pin backed out allowing the center pin to spin and wear until it broke. I am tired of breaking this D35. Hope to find a C8.25 29spline with 3.07s soon. If I can't buy one for a good price I'll fix mine.

Good luck finding a C8.25. I hope they are easy to find so you don't have to go through this again.

Thanks. Yea, I am hoping to find a 3.07 8.25, but so far all that has turned up is 3.55ers and parts for my D35. I'll continue to search for a week or so.

Decided to drop my D35 like a bad habit. Picked up a C8.25 w/ 3.55s and a D30 to match. Turns out the the D30 needs new coil buckets, lca mounts, and a few other odds and ends. So, I'll be swapping the gear set into current my axle.

I'm doing all this work in my buddy's shop. He has a CJ5 that will receive a healthy stretch. The YJ is getting new motor mounts.

Thanks, Brian. After yanking out the 35 I noticed that the spring perches were also bent. I beat the crap out of that thing. Served me well, but can't keep up with the kind of wheeling I do. You are right, that shop is awesome! Plenty of space.

Been a while since an update. The Jeep is closer to wheelable, but not there yet. Its sort of on the back burner in my life right now. I did however trade in the old ford on a newer, more comfy DD/Tow Rig. 2003 Mountaineer 4.6L AWD and more buttons to push than I've ever had!

The 8.25 is super beefy! I swapped one into mine in place of a 35 and never regretted it. It was the best 180 I spent Which did you get 27 or 29 spline?
