Played around with the Jeep after work at our shop. Nice woody area and creek to crawl through. A small crowd developed and I had to put on a show...

Thought I just snapped the short side front shaft till I tried to pull out of the shop to leave for home. Lucky this didn't happen going down the highway.

I wish it was D60 time, John!!
Sadly just time for new ball joints and swapped shaft/u joint/wheel bearing from my old axle.

Put the rest on and tightened everything down. Here it sits back at home next to a couple of the roommate's rides.

Was headed back from my sister's and saw this gem on the side of the road with a FS sign on it. Offered the older gentlemen all the cash I had in my wallet, and HE TOOK IT! Very heavy machine. Its a Delta and came with another motor and spare belt. Lucky and VERY happy to have this. Fab jobs just got easier.

Enjoyed reading the build (and carnage). Also have a 90XJ, littered with RENIX problems I haven't managed to fix yet. Will be following your build. I have a C8.25 with 3.55s and a matching HP30 I will be putting in soon. Keep on keepin' on, sir.

Thanks Eric. I hope you get your Jeep issues figured out. Mine has had many bugs over the years, some self inflicted
.I'm now rocking the IRO Tie Rod along with new TREs. Steering feels much better. I've gotten good use out of IRO's tow hook system and double shear track bar. It made sense to go with their tie rod after bending my v8 ZJ tie rod.

Headed out to wheel this Saturday for the first time since Fall. Really looking forward to the trails at Redbird!

Upcoming Mods that are circling my brain:
-Cage
-Tube Rockers
-HD Engineering Frame Stiffeners(waiting in garage)
-F/R Bumpers
-Winch
-and
-on

I didn't have any wheeling partners today, but played it safe and had a good time. It was atleast great to be out wheeling again. Between everything being frozen and my front being locked now, traction was rarely an issue. I did nothing that was extreme, have no more body damage, broke nothing, but practiced technique and had some some fun in the process. Also took the time to take some poser shots.
There's a water bottle under the rear tire for perspective.

All the water holes were of course frozen. I pushed the envelope too far on one and got stuck. Both front spun nowhere on the ice and the open rear end just turned one in the muck. I was stuck. A combination of tree saver strap, a couple d rings, tow strap, and hand winch got me out.

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to make it I wasn't able to used my buddies trailer. I will be buying my own trailer hopefully soon. I really wanted to wheel Redbird again and would have called you if I had your number.

Very cool you found this build thread useful. Good luck with your trail upgrades!

Gave the trailer some love. Rotated the tires, adjusted the trailer brakes, sanded/filed the magnet contacts at each drum, and added a weight distribution hitch.
I've had some trailer sway issues aswell as a tad too much tongue weight for the Mounty. This should be a great addition.
