89 two tone project
Ell I've had my 89 paper weight for a few months now and I figured it's about time I made one of these. First what's wrong with it haha:
No horn
Stereo missing
No headliner
Seats worn
Stalls after starting( think its the fuel filter, replacing today)
Hole in skid plate for gas tank
Suspension worn, bad shocks and bad leaf springs
Overheats at idle, electric fan won't kick on
Leaking oil but that's normal right?
What I've done since I got it
New coolant system, radiator hoses water pump thermostat, thermostat housing, and resivior
Home brew roof rack from a buddy
Fixed the ground issue so now I can use both headlights and windshield wipers haha
New pistons for the hatch
Next weekend
Suspension! Got new (to me) leaf springs off a 2000 for 40 bucks pretty good shape and with new bushings, a 2" aal, and my buddy gave me his old 2" rc coils, new shocks and steering stabilizer in the mail. Now for some pics

Not too many dents in it, and very few rust spots, nothing a sander and primer won't fix, going to be two tone paint job when I'm ready to paint, black on red

Ok so my exhaust doughnut is shot and it sounds like straight exhaust is coming off the manifold, would this cause me to be having issues with getting it to run?

Who knew it would take 2 hours to break a bolt free? Well finally got the old leaf springs out and put the new rough country shocks in

Well after a mix up with some rims, I finally got the 31's on the jeep and out of the garage. Ran it around all day and took it out on the beach. Tires rub at full lock so looks like I'm going to be getting spacers. The newly balanced tires got rid of my death wobble too so I'm pretty happy. The lift kit is pretty nice and I don't bottom out over bumps in the road. Glad I decided on the new leaf springs instead of repairing the old wore out ones. When I ripped out the old shocks, same ones from the factory. Yep. 360,000 miles, 22 years, and factory shocks. Well here she is. Haven't got a nickname for it yet, but something will come to mind haha
