It really is. Diesels and 42x10.50 boggers mix really well. That thing just digs right off the bat and shoots out of any hole or up any hill. Ill post some pictures. This is the rig of the guy that taught me everything I know, best built rig I have seen so far. This is before we cut it up, these are actually pictures of the first trip out after finishing all the drivetrain and axles.

So I finally swapped in a dana 30 out of a 98 cherokee with an automatic. Gave me a HUGE power boost with 31's. I feel like I have to shift to often, but I can use third gear anywhere from 15mph to 75 mph. 4th tops out the speedo. In 4hi or 4low I have plenty of power. We will see if that sticks with 33's. I also have a 8.25 out of a 98 cherokee. A lot of people told me not to waste my time and to just get a 8.8 but I have been running the 8.25 for over a year of hard use daily driving and wheeling with no problem. I did make sure to get one from a 97+ tho because they have the 29 spline count. I went through the whole axle making sure the seals ball joints and gears were good before dropping it in of course. And paint is always a necesity =P

I considered trussing and gusseting the dana 30 but honestly I dont wheel THAT hard, I cant see them being viable with 33's and I dont plan on going bigger then that. My favorite benefit of going from an amc era axle to a decade newer chrysler axle was the breaks. As you can see in the pictures the new rotors are significantly larger, as well as the caliper and break pads. My breaks were not all that bad when I put in the 98 axle, I was not going to replace them till I found out that amc disk breaks are not compatible with chrysler disc breaks. I am happy I did tho. HUGE breaking increase. Noticable with the rear breaks also but I didnt take any pictures because I will be installing disc breaks in the rear soon. When I replaced the front axle the whole front end went out piece by piece. I replaced my trac bar, drag link, and every ball joint just to make sure. It was my first time experiencing DW and I didnt want it to happen again. It did happen again and it wound up being my lower control arm bushings. A friend had some skyjacker arms for a grand cherokee he gave me, so I cut them down, sleeved them, and paid a fab shop 20 dollars to weld it for me. I can weld but I dont trust myself with this particular application...

I didnt really gain any flex as you would imagine from the control arms, but I gained some droop. I didnt think to measure how much...

So I finally got around to fabbing a rear bumper. I made it simple learning from my front bumper. I wanted to keep it as tight as possible, I would say it sticks out a quarter inch from the button to open the hatch. Now that I have had it for a little while I am going to make two changes. I am going to cut a 2 inch by 4 inch hole for reverse lights, and im going to make a arb style rear bumper mount to work in accordance with the one already in place.

So this picture is the main reason I am re making my front bumper. this one is for sale if anyone is interested. I am firm on 200. It just sticks out a little to far for my liking, i was a tube style like or fabs front 3 piece. So I bought these tires for daily drivers, and want to say they are fantastic! I have used them in sand, mud, and street, and i spose some rallying around gravel roads. They are fantastic on all levels. 700 for the set, with a 50k warrenty. I am flat out tired of using my Mickey thompsons on the street. to loud. And my fuel economy has increased noticably. here is a video anyone should check out.
