Step up to 1/2" if your using 3/8", at least the socket won't break. As for the bolts keep soaking them in PB. If not you might need to add some heat, probly need new bushings after though. Good luck. 89 RENIX with 240,000 beat hard everyday and loves it.

How are you getting the bolts out after cutting them? From what I understand, you have to cut into the floor to get them out. That is what I am avoiding

my bad i miss read. i thought you were having problems with the shackle bolts. sorry. yeah heat and more penetrating oil is about all i can think of. i have heard good things about using a 50/50 mix of acetone and atf for penetrating oil. if nothing else is working it might do the trick.

Couple of my old neighbors swung by. They have an xj with the 3 inch lift so they gave me a hand. Go figure they knock them out in minutes and make me look like a newbie. Hehe, at least its done now! just for torquing them now.

I will get new tires at some point, but to be honest I just paid more for those tires then I did for the xj, So i think im going to hold on to them at least for the time being.

Ok, I see what happened... but how the heck did that happen?

Was the ball lock not engaged, or did it fail? That sucks, but the chop sounds interesting! Good luck with it.

Well, was replacing the t stat today and ran into my first common problem with cherokees... The lower bolt broke off at the head. tried welding a nut to the end and just couldnt lay a decent bead because of how close it broke to the head. tried using a easy out with no luck. Looks like im going to be drilling it out and using a tap and die.... Ugh.....
