Got some problems with my heat. Blower not working. Found some issues.
Not a new problem. Noticed the fuse was burnt in the fuse any and had a jumper.
Sorry about the pics.
Camera phone. No flash. :-(

holy crap, must be a lot of backspacing on that rim, or should I say, very little? lol. Either way, looks like about 3inch backspacing.

After that I started doing some reading on here and asked a couple questions. Figured I'd get out the test light and see what was up. I have power at the fuse but not at the switch or motor. I unplugged the blower motor and direct wired it to the battery. It fired up fine. Read somemore and found the blower motor resistor can be a problem. After looking at it i decided to get a new one. Can you tell which one is which?

Actually its 4" backspacing.
10" rim makes it wider.

Pulled out my dash switch. No power there either. Plug was super hard to pull. Once I got it out I understood why.

Think my fuse box is mounted sideways. At least according to my manual.
On the up side my gorilla nuts arrived. The stock ones with chrome caps aren't that great. My fourth shock also arrived. Didn't show up in the original shipment. Figure that one is rolling around on the bottom of a UPS truck. Lol!

been there done that with the connector for the switch.. dont even try to go buy one, they're about impossible to locate. I went to my local pull a part and got just 3 whole heater controllers with about 5 of the connectors and 3 switches, along with a few new connectors for the back of the heater control. I usually go through a switch and connector every two years, mostly from literally always keeping the switch on high if its on... Make sure to clean the crud off the switch pins on the back, and be certain they dont wiggle, if they do then tighten them back up or get another switch.

I got a switch and plug from the junk yard. Gonna re wire it. Just after the paint and just before I started the wiring someone tried stealing my XJ. I posted a thread. Picked up a new ignition. They jacked it up pretty bad.

Thanks for the pointers. Much appreciated. I discovered yesterday i had a bad relay. Didn't even realize it was part of the circuit.

Been busy.
Finally got the new ignition in. Started on it as soon as I pulled in the driveway from work. Was getting real hard to turn. Didn't wanna break the key off or jam it up.
Here is an excellent link I used. Walked me right through it.

I've really been ripping it up on the research for this blower motor issue. Seems to be an extremely common problem for all Jeeps. Got a couple of great links. Pretty sure I'm gonna re build the circuit. Instead of dealing with this problem again and again and risking burning my heap up...

Great youtube vid. Explains why this happens on large scale production cars.

Really helpful link from someone with an XJ who did this. Don't know if he saw the youtube vid..?
