4.0 Performance
What are some easy way to get more power out these 4.0 motors? Im looking at a cam kit and a head, im not used to working on anything with less than 8cyl so im riding the struggle bus, any help would be greatly appreciated! Trying to stay within a budget as well but we all know how that goes!

depending on the year upgrading to the newer style intake helps a little, also 4 or 12 hole injectors are a good upgrade both go well with a bored out throttle body and k&n air filter
I ordered a Banks CAI already, what mm throttlebody would you reccomend with the bigger injectors? Also what kind of exhaust? Might as well put a header on it while everything is apart.

I've got a 93 that is going to be going through some changes and depending on how far I tear it down I would like to do some upgrades as well. I already have to do an exhaust manifold so I might as well consider intake since I'm already removing it.
99-01 had a bigger plenum if i remember correctly, i found one already ported and polished, just waiting on payday for that toy money to deposit! Also going to pull the trigger on a polished 62mm throttle body and injectors, i didnt realize how cheap these motors were to build!

I'd steer clear of the K&N filters unless this is a strictly street driven Jeep. They suck at filtering contrary to what their marketing says. K&N is more of a good marketing company than a good filtering company. YOu can dump a lot of money into the 4.0L and not get very much power with bolt ons. If you are looking for real power gains you have two real options. Stroker motor or forced induction.

XJwonder on here sells bored TBs and ungraded battery cables (both I would recommend). You state you are on a budget, but didn't say what the budget was. I have a 4.0 I put a cam in, bigger injectors, bored TB, 99+ intake, bored .030 over. If you really want power stroker is the way to go.
