Played around with my roof rack today. The one thing I always hated about it was how high it sat. Today I played around with the height

I flipped the mounting points

Sits about 3.5" lower. About .25" about the roof

The reason behind finally messing with the rack

It's actually getting dark up here again. Time to busy out the big guns

Also took my non-broken stock fog light and wired in for a reverse light

Lowered my *** end down and am running into some issues

What it looked like yesterday
Name: null_zpsce5da627.jpg
Views: 95

The *** end sat about 1.5" higher

I swapped some stock shackles in and got this
Name: null_zps15823fe1.jpg
Views: 103
Size: 59.2 KB
Sits much better but now the shackles hit over bumps

I clearances the shackle relocators when I got them so I can't move them a hole back.

Suggestions?

The 1.5" shackles moved to the center hole

Used my hi lift to test the compression to make sure it wouldn't bottom out.

Decided I didn't want a roof rack or basket anymore so I ordered this piece from OMF offroad. Very nice, high quality heavy mounts for my light bar. I wish I would just sprayed it clear to show off the colors and welds.

Thanks. I was getting close to not fitting in the garage. Had to loose the rack :-(

On the street the Detroit rides like an open diff. On my last little adventure it let me down. 3 times. I almost had to use my winch. 4low made the Detroit act like I wanted it to. I have an Aussie in my old front carrier. As much as I'd hate to loose the full case Detroit I might swap em out if the Detroit continues to disappoint.

OMC offroad built a very high quality/sturdy product. I'd def recommend them.
