It is mesh and the thing is huge! I didn't think it would have this much room in it! I'll give an exact measurement tomorrow but it has surpassed my expectations. Can't beat the price either. The mounting hardware is alittle cheesy but I've already made improvements and plan to make some more before I load it with my spare and goodies.

Well I think I might be forced to ditch my carpet sooner than expected. I've had some water intrusion ever since I bought it at the drivers floor. I'm pretty sure it's just the weatherstripping being worn. But the damage is done. The water is in. I've dried it the best I can and we're not talking a serious amount of water. But rusted floors are the last thing I want... I don't have any rust on the rig and I intend to keep it that way. But the carpet will stay for now. Until I get the $ together for some supplies to rhino line anyway.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a good sound deadening bed liner? Or just a good method to use to achieve that? On my 95 I simply tore the carpet out and slapped the cheap rustoleum bed liner in. I plan on getting a better product this time.

Well I think I'm going to try and set my cb radio up today. But I'm trying to decide how to power it still. I was told by an old man I work with who is very into cb radios that the best way to get top performance is to run the wires right to the battery.

I'm also juggling just running it to the accessory fuse box. I definitely DONT want to go with the outlet style I've always ran. Bc I want my outlets to be available to power other things.

What do you guys think?

run it into the fuse box to a fuse that is only on when the car is on. shouldn't be too hard if you mount it right by the shifter on the pass. side..

Yeah I think that's what I'm going to do. Idk for some reason I don't like the idea of running it right to the battery.

So here is what I'm thinking for mounting my cb. I took a piece of banding and measured the distance between the two screws that hold the sunvisors in. I'm going to use that bracket to mount my cb. Hiding the wires will be a chore. But I think it will be worth it. Either that or it was going to go on the dash.

Still undecided. Either way if I mount it on the dash ill use that bracket for my mic. What do you guys think?

Andddd after much frustration I think I'm going to toss the over the head idea. I mounted it in there but I just didn't like it. It's close to the rear view mirror and idk just didn't look right. Probably just going to go with the original plan and mount it on the dash like I always have. Pics coming tomorrow.

As far as wiring goes I'm going to tap into the fuse panel for sure.

Andddd Christmas never ends for this xj!

Got some silverstars. Bye bye angry eyes.

I hope these are a significant upgrade over stock. You can't even tell my headlights are on right now. They are that dim. I read these things are really nice so pulled the trigger.

I'm thinking about maybe adding two more cross members to my roof rack to help sturdy up the new rage basket also. But until I do I'm going to refrain from mounting anything up there.

My coax is getting pinched by my hatch I need to think of a better way to route it inside... Hmm.

I like that a lot..But my passengers are already complaining about the charger being there. And it's completely out of the way! :banghead: but that's why we stack things on that side. So the driver doesn't have to deal with it. Lol.

I post a pic of where I mounted it in a little bit. Might toss those silverstars in too while I'm at it.

What kind of mount are you running for your antenna?
