Ohh yeah, I forget that most British Columbians are in the Vancouver area lol. I do some work for a little ISP in Field (mountains) and an uncle has a ranch in Dawson's Creek.
I understand lol, particularly the wife bit. I told her the TDI was impossible to stall... Yeah that didn't last long.
Which way are you going with gears?
I am very much looking forward to your next updates!

I really should not complain about this yet. We still are going to play with the tune a bit before making any gear change.
Just been too busy at work and checking things off the "honey do" list to get back to the jeep.

Heh.
Before I get to tinkering with putting the ALH in my XJ I've got a rather long list that begins with "clear the garage", has "fix the truck and the Jetta" in the middle, ends with "repair the frame on the XJ so there's a vehicle to put the engine into". LOL

haha i have said it before. It might be easier to find a rust free shell down here and swap everything over.

If you find me one, I'll trade you a rusty shell and like eight Ecco rims. It can be your next project. Since the underside is screwed anyway it'll be easier to make an 8 wheeler.

They are? I know they have a following with grease car guys but I've never seen anywhere near the amount of the parts in stock basically everywhere, aftermarket support, or resources like the many TDI forums and even this thread. The VW TDI platform is the most popular non-commercial diesel in North America. There have got to be a quarter million rolling around the continent of the various generations.

i am leaning more towards the ALH though because i have one sitting here in my wifes Jetta...
. My TDI is a CR so it's out of the question for a swap candidate.

Ohhh a 2010... I wouldn't put that into something I could get stranded in, either lol
Yeah yeah "know where to look" blah blah. Half of the TDI engines are on RockAuto lol. Show me a site like idparts.com for the OM617 :P
