Ok so I thank I have it figured out. When you turn full lock the caliper hits the c-gusset and compress's the caliper, Just like you would when putting on new front pads. Then when you go to use the brakes again your caliper has to adjust just like it does when you put on new pads. After the caliper re-adjusts you have brakes again.

I got mine in on Saturday. I have to relocate the trac bar to get my steering back. Before I did the steering I noticed that my bottom caliper retaining bolt was catching the C gusset. Nothing a grinder cant fix. Just need to figure what to do with the trac bar.
When you had your c-gusset and front brake problem, was your caliper hanging up on the c-gusset? Or did it brake the rubber line? Just wondering because if i'm at full lock my caliper hits the c-gusset and my pedal will go to the floor, as soon as I straighten the wheel my pedals back.

Went wheeling over the weekend at the Badlands with some of my buds. It was so dang hot out that I've started working on a set of half doors for Doom.

Read through the build for probably the 25th time man. Great pictures from our wheeling trip, looking forward to the cliffs this saturday. Thanks for the help yesterday. Doom will always be my favorite build I have a feeling. So much awesomeness on one jeep.

No updates since it's back home still.
Tcase is correct along with some other piddley stuff.
Glad you're planning on doing something with yours. Too many people dismiss the early XJ's, but they do work. Good luck on you build!
