Found very good images of what my Cherokee will look like when its complete.

Even has the factory fog lights and CHEROKEE LAREDO box emblem on the doors, It really probably says LIMIDED tho, as they quit making Laredos in 92, and thats for the XJ. They still make Laredos only a Grand Cherokee.

I found 2 post of the 97-01 Dash swap and is doable, but Its alot of work and wiring, and I'd rather not mess with my wiring atleast around the cluster.

Here are 2 links to the dash switch.

I also noticed if you change the header you may need the bumper and fenders too, unless you plan on putting a custom one on.

They go back and use the 84-96 Hatch of the USA Cherokees. So if you ever want to change the hatch, It would be very easy to find one at the JY. make sure you get the roof hinges, I think there welded on or bolted. I'm going to keep mine on when I switch to the 97-01 hatch, be easier than moding my body, I mod the door.

Jeep 2500 with the 84-96 Hatch. http://www.cnnauto.com/cjxw/jgdt/ima...0722622358.jpg
They Also use the style Jeep Liberty taillights.

Heres another link for you: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthrea...ersion&page=16
I also noticed that it used the 84-96 fenders, ao you can maybe just get the 84-96 fenders and cut an outline of the lights, like the guy on the link did. Read on with the posts. I really wouldn't mind doing this, SO I better quit looking at the pictures. I wish crystler didn't quit making the Cherokee XJ and if kept making them and didn't sell it to china, like all other American companies do now. Chrystler should of kept it, make them in the very same body style and make a 2 version "Price diffrence" of a pick between the 84-96 interor or 97-01 interor. The 84-96 interor models would be like a Cherokee Classic, SE modles and the 97-01 would be like SPORT, Limited. the ZJ still runs but changed the body style, Thats what I liked about the Jeep Cherokee XJ, The same body throught 1984-2001. I don't know if they still make these 2500s in china still or not, the year I found last was 2007. And im not sure if its a XJ in model wise.

Heres a dealership page, It goes by a name plate GROZ and not Jeep anymore. http://www.chinabaw.cn/qishi/features.aspx

This was just a image I found online a long time ago and thought it was cool and saved it as a refrence. I'd like to know the price for a 97-01 too, but I pretty much have almost all the parts already. I like this though, All the Jeep Cherokee XJs were all built the same and and can pick your style you like. I wounder if the kit of the 97-01 had the interor as a kit? Im just guessing its the body parts. I remember seeing the Jeep 2500 kit on ebay. I might do a search on there with the listed kits and see. I was woundering did any of the XJ models ever have a Trail rated emblem on them?

If I had 4 XJs I would have one of each, The Wagoneer should be very easy really, just the front clip and and wood grain texture, my favorit build would probably be the conversion to the Jeep 2500.

Its nice outside and went to clean my inside of my Cherokee today, I later looked under it to see hows the rockers are going to be installed and noticed a small finger size hole on the back seats area and can feel the carpet and im sure the entire floor is like this, Its a 91. Is this a very hard thing to repair? I found this link and shows the floor repaired. If I get it fixed how much would it be and what should I used on it to keep it from rusting like this again?

I like this Image here, A corner view of my Cherokee.
If I seen this image on a google search of Jeep Cherokees, I'd think this was a 97-01, thats how good it looks now.

I did look up on the models, The Cherokees with the black trim/endcaps are Sports and the all matching color trim are Classic or Limited. I was wanting to go with the Classic models On the side of my doors should I leave it say Laredo or install the OEM Classic on them?

A Red Cherokee with Classic: http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0010_large.jpg
My Cherokee with Laredo: https://www.cherokeeforum.com/member.../26527-emblem/ And Yes I installed the 3D lettering CHEROKEE on the doors with the 3M Emblem Glue, I took my time to keep it straight. It wasn't easy removing the lettering off the other Cherokees at the JY. It took some paint off the door and such, So I socked them in alcohol and the old paint and sticky glue rubbed off and ready for the 3M Emblem glue. The LAREDO I got off a Grand Cherokee since no XJ models where made in 96-01 with the Cherokee on the doors. They were on the fenders

I think it would be alot cheaper than buying the entire door.

A few updates on the hatch. This is not my big project this year as I got other things to fix right now. But got a view of the hinges installed on the 97-01 hatch.

I didn't get a good look at the inside of 97-01 Cherokees, So not sure if theres room to weld the true hinges for the 97-01 on the inside, So I kept with the outside hinges. I don't think its a big deal with having the outside hinges than the inside. When installing the 97-01 hatch on, copy your current hatch or use it as a refrence when adding the hinges on. The only thing I notice you will need is the Hatch latch, The Cherokee hatch latch come in two styles. 84-96 A Nub style, 97-01 a "n" style. Same bolt lineup on them. And for the hatch hinges I'd recomend keeping with the top ones as there bolted to the roof. I made the hatch post for 84-96 Cherokee owners and had a few 97-01 owners ask me about switching to the 84-96 hatch, I going to say its the same but have to somehow remove the hinges off a 84-96 roof Plus get the nub latch. And all yes the other completion to the hatch. The TailLights. There are two diffrent taillights witch sure everyone knows witch ones go with what. Of course the 84-96 goes with that hatch and 97-01 goes with that hatch.

If anyone owns a 97-01 Cherokee, post some pictures on here of it opened up and take pictures of the hinges, And I'll see the space diffrence on the two.
