Yea I got a 97 for parts with everything except axles, engine and tranny. All I really wanted was the panels, doors, and interior anyway

You should remove the hatch on yours. The mount screws are on the inside when opened, should be Star screws and just see how well the 97+ hatch fits. Don't have to mount it, Just want to see how well it looks. Need images. My plan with mine was going to attach the current hinges on the roof onto the 97+ hatch and if metal needs cut a little on top.

The 97+ hatch is metal and heavy and the 84-96 is fiberglass. You can also lay the fiberglass one on the 97+ Cherokee to see how it looks as some people with 97+ Cherokees wanted to install the fiberglass one. Images will be nice to see.

The hinges on the 97+ are on the inside while the 84-96 are on the top roof outside. I also have the striker witch is a n shape held on by 2 bolts.

Unfortunately I sold the hatch like 2 months ago. I tried the tail lights on and they were way off. I might get another one in two weeks so I can send you matchup pics then. I can send you a mock up pic of the tail lights on if you want. I have the taillights in my garage.

I have the taillights and everything. They would need new holes screwed for them.

Another image of the hinges that would get screwed onto the other hatch. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/19...-49861/index5/

Here is a tear down of a 97+ Cherokee Dash: http://comancheclub.com/topic/32740-...1997-comanche/
Most of these threads are a full complete dash swap with 97+ cluster and wiring witch I want to avoid.

The heater cores look the same to me so that's why I think Im going to leave mine alone and I don't have a 97+ anyway.

I have got the new Chrome grille and light bezels on the Cherokee. I also have New Chrome front and back bumper along with end caps. Not installed yet. I am going to get the original rims cleaned up with new center caps and put them back on. As for the 97-01 upgrade, everything just needs painted to match and can be put on and off any time now. Still would like to get tires for the 16" Icon rims.

A simple image made with the back panel added on. It has the stock front clip and not the boxy one that I have for it.

Installed the new chrome bumper with the accessories today. Probably will install back later on at some time. I'm putting the classic look back.
