there is a reason for what i did, its already a tight fit for me without the cage and i was able to keep all the tubes away from my head if i were to put an x in the roof i would bash my head on it every time i got in. The rear section is not finished i put a 30 deg. bend in the rear roof tubes and will continue it to the rear down bars with a gusset that way it will all flow together i got the idea from a genrite cageOriginally Posted by Atmos
I might have asked this before, but why didn't you just make some X's for the roof? triangles and all that..

I figured it was a head room issue. that's why you just build a hybrid instead and put the halo on top of the roof
I understand having an internal too. looks nice. you matched that genrite pretty well

Holy sheet Batman that is beautiful. I have seen XJs with 37s but never 40s, this thing is beautiful. I love what you have done to it and look forward to seeing what happens next. Sub'd

thanks man, i am obsessed with workinig on this thing. Im about done with mounting the seats, and now want to add a couple more tubes to the cage. After im completely done with the inside the only thing i have left to do on my list is build some sort of cover for the coilovers where they pass through the wheel wells and re-line the rear quarters oh yeah i almost forgot, build a skid and maybe then i can get back on the trailsOriginally Posted by DEMon357XJ

realy well, there are a couple of spots on the edge of the doors where it was opened numerous times into a metal cabinet when we were working on the cage and finally chipped it away but with some black touch up paint u cant even tell, other than that no issuesOriginally Posted by Letterman52

I got the seats and belts mounted up, i painted the front section of the cage and also the rear tube around the fuel cell i painted it dark grey. I used rustolium hammered in a quart and applied it with a foam brush. It is a oil based paint with 2 heavy coats it looks like base clear! The shine is unreal and self levels realy well, i did the whole cage in it and it all looks even without any brush strokes. Other that that i haven't made any other progress, i was involved in a car wrench and am on the way to have surgery this morning. I need to get my back better so i can start useing my piece!
