I got the seats and belts mounted up, i painted the front section of the cage and also the rear tube around the fuel cell i painted it dark grey. I used rustolium hammered in a quart and applied it with a foam brush. It is a oil based paint with 2 heavy coats it looks like base clear! The shine is unreal and self levels realy well, i did the whole cage in it and it all looks even without any brush strokes. Other that that i haven't made any other progress, i was involved in a car wrench and am on the way to have surgery this morning. I need to get my back better so i can start useing my piece!

Thanks man, i have been in bed since Tuesday but i am starting to feel a little better this morning. I am a verry active person and being inside is killing me, i have been wanting to make a scale replica of my jeep so im gonna order a cherokee rc body and start on my build! I have been on my iPad looking but am haveing a hard time deciding on 1.9 or 2.2 iroks i have both. I have no idea if u r into rc but if anyone has any input let me know what size tires and for the body if i should go 1/8 or 1/10th the only real diff is the wheelbase is about 1.5" longer and the overall length is .5" longer on the 1/8 any help would be great

Around Wisconsin I believe more people race 1/8. I also thought 1/8 was more common all over.
You racing or just something to play with in the back yard? Either would be fine I'm sure. I'd go for what is more common at your local hobby shop/Race track.
Then electric or gas?

The axial scx10s are fun to build.. They are 1/10th and the Cherokee bodies fit on em perfect... They do not come with controller and battery and servo and all that and you have to waterproof them also... But they are badass and super fun to build... I had almost 800 in mine before I sold it to my buddy cause I needed money..

i have built many scalers and crawlers over the years, for a while i was building full tube chassis and rock buggies for people on rccrawler. I have a scx10 dingo someone gave to me, he had a shop and someone left the rig up there for over a year and no one knew who left it, he know i was into rc and gave it to me it might have a couple runs on it with no scratches on it so that will be my platform. I just dont want to cut up the body too much i was hoping to make the same cuts as i did on my 1.1 and use the rok lok tires but i know they are realy tall, just trying to keep the same look as my 1.1. I just cant find any pics where the 1/8 body has been used on a scaler with 2.2's. thanks for all the pics man! it looks like the pics u posted are all the 1/10 bodies and the 2.2 tires that are on them are all smaller than the height of the rock loks. I have been trying to decide what body to buy for 3 days now i wish i could just make up my mind its driving me crazy!
