Hey guys did some searching around either I suck at searching or I can't find the info I need! So I'm in the process of doing dana 60 front and sterling 10.5 in thr rear ( f250 axles). Now im trying to figure out what gear ratio I need I see a lot of people do 5.13 or 5.88 but most people still have the inline 6 woth either the automatic or manual transmission. I'm a little different and not sure if this will make a difference in selecting of gear ratio I currently have a 5.3 ls motor with a 4l60 automatic transmission with a final drive ratio of .70 attached to the np231 t case! Is any one good with math to figure out what ratio I need I'm planning on either 38 or 40 in tires. Thanks

 

The Cherokee's AW4 automatic has a first gear ratio of 2.80 and OD of 0.75. The 4l60 is 3.06 and 0.70, so lower first and higher OD, but not terribly different.

You're building a Jeep on 40's. Just put the lowest gears you can in it and run it. I think most people go 5.38's. Not sure if its availability or what.
