Default $1 jeep build

Being a highschooler with little money my jeep came to me from a guy who didn't have the heart to see it scraped, so you can say I actually handed him a dollar for the title to the vehicle. In no way was it a perfect car nor was it anywhere near being road ready, the floors were completely rotted out and so were the rockers, there were also large rust holes in the frame. The vehicle only had one owner and it was a daily driver, the New York winters did not do this old XJ justice. It also took a bad deer hit which wrecked the front of the car so it has new front end. All the work is already done but i'll be posting all the steps I did to get the jeep to were it is now

If it's anything like the junk I find around here (including my own rig) somebody is going to be welding some stuff. Keep us posted.

Unfortunately I lost some of the original rust photos, but these show what the floors looked like after 20 hours scraping

I do not envy you guys. God bless Texas, lol. I deal with bad rust all the time, but those cars are 50yrs old. My XJ doesn't have a flake of rust anywhere.

Look forward to some more pics!

Because i'm cheap we ended up cutting away all the bad metal and replacing it all with metal from a couple filing cabinets, best part was that it came pre-painted

I would have at least lined the floor before reinstalling the carpet though, but good job

It was primed, then did a spray on truck bed liner, the lining was heavy plastic but it didn't show in the photos
