hello everyone, im portuguese and im here to ask if anyone there knows if there is something in jeep cherokee that block the crankshaft ....i explain, i was in road at about 150 in velocity and in that moment the car slowly begin to had less power and less and before i parking he stops , then i tried to start but the engine is bloked, doesn turn and i dont know if the crankshaft its whit a problem or if there is a valvue or other thing that is blocking the engine, really dont know where to start ...thankyou and sorry my poor english

 

Hi guys it's been a while since I've posted. I started doing my lift today, but the leaf spring bolt holes on the frame end wouldn't line up. It was was like the leaf spring was too short. Do you have any suggestions? I got frustrated and put it all back together hana

 

I had the same issue with my rear lift install. To solve it, my friend and I used a tie down to keep the axle in place BEFORE unbolting the leaf pack. Then install the new leaf pack frame eye first and then the rear eye. Made the job way easier.

 

Yeah the issue is that the spring is....sprung. it needs to be flattened a bit. I bolted the front eye on first. Then I used a jack to lift the axle and a crow bar wedged between the unibody and the top part of the leaf. I levered down on the leaf and it extended the rear eye hole to match up with the shackle. It also helps to loosen up the shackle so that you at least have some wiggle room.

 

Well guys I finally finished the lift. I will be taking it in for an alignment tomorrow, everything went on great after I got past the leaf spring problem. I had to head up one of the upper control arm bolts but that was the only bolt that gave me problems, other than the pressed bolts on the sway bar links but a C clamp and a socket took care of those pretty easily. Right now I have shims on the axle and a t case drop, I have a SYE and CV drive shaft ready to go on it, but I figured I wanted to give it a couple of weeks before I install that. I don't plan on taking it off road until that is installed. Sorry for the awful picture I will post better ones soon

Well yesterday I drove back to Phoenix and it rode awesome! I can't wait to get it off road. I did not have any drive line vibrations thank god, but I still plan on installing the SYE and CV Drive shaft in the up coming weeks because I know the T case drop is just a band aid. As far as the tire size goes right now I am loving the 31's with stock fenders. I think when I decided to get some bumpers and other armor is when I will upgrade to the 33x12.50's and just stick with the 31's for a while, they were free so I'm not complaining!
