Do you have any play in the steering wheel?
I just completed pretty much a front end rebuild and still have some play in the steering.[/QUOTE
Eh a very minor bit. Partly because of the amount of lift I have. I believe I read once before this style kit that you and I are runnin will always have a little non responsive dead spot no matter what. Give me a few minutes and ill try to find the thread.

I have a feeling either the drop pitman arm or the steering setup I am running may be the culprit. Since the response is about the same as it was with the stock box and now with the durango box.

Another thing to check is the tre to the pitman. They can sometimes separate internally and cause MAJOR loose steering. Even if it's new, still check....mine was brand new with the kit and they were bad. Replaced it and it was wayyyyyyy more responsive.

[quote=fritzthekatt;1806872]Well if your steering box has been replaced make sure that is tightened down all the way....could very well cause play if it isn't. The pitman arm shouldn't be the problem.....

Thanks! It's been a huge PITA since January. Sucks about the wreck. Didn't you get a fat check out of it? Can't remember seems like at the same time 5 or 6 people totaled their XJ's.
