Rubicon Express makes high quality kits. If you aren't gonna wheel and you are just doing it for the looks but you still want a quality ride, Old Man Emu makes good stuff too.

If you are trying to do it cheaply, you have Rough Country and Rustys, but most people who get those kits and get "in" to wheeling often end up regretting getting them and wishing they had just got Rubicon Express from the get go.

The long arm kit is far from the best you could get for an XJ. You lose clearance because they are arms are mounted below the unibody, and please dont tell me you run a rustys trackbar. That is the worst product you could install on a jeep, there are NUMEROUS reports of these things failing on the road at speed, and causing wrecks. Its a very dangerous thing. Overall rustys is not a good company to deal with, outrageous shipping too.

also shouldnt need 8.5" of lift for ANY tire size on an XJ.....

Have you ever dealt through Rusty's??? I got my 3" SP and am VERY satisfied with it. Shipping wasn't bad at all either. I've gone wheelin with my buddy who has a 3" Rough Country and I get better articulation plus a better ride than he does (this coming from his own mouth). I know a lot of guys who are veteran wheelers and they all suggested Rusty's to me which is why I went through them. If you PERSONALLY don't have any bad experiences with them, don't put 'em down.
