Hey all, just wanted to say hello. I live in Va. Beach and am beginning my search for a used Cherokee. Looking for a good reliable 97-99.

This would be my first 4x4 and it would stay most of the year up at my camp in the GWNF.
It would be for fun on the trails and hunting.

Welcome to CF! I'll keep an eye out for you on a XJ. What's your price range?

Id ask if he wheeled it at all. Then get under it and look for yourself. See if it looks like he's lying. Without bumper caps and flares I'd bet he has at least a little.

Exactly the kind of info I need. I'm really wanting something unmolested but that one is probably what I would end up doing to it.

Definitely spend some time checking over EVERYTHING, no matter what the Jeep looks like. Like Red82 said, with the caps and flares gone I'd say he's at least done some light wheeling with it. Not a bad thing as long as he's taken care of it. If there's stuff you're unsure of, you've got plenty of other Jeepers in the area that I'm sure will go and look at it with you. If I can I will. Just let me know.

I live in the Norfolk area and just bought a 2000 Cherokee, I'm looking for some cool people to go wheeling with. I'm new at this whole thing but I'm stoked to get started. I'll be building bumpers, sliders and doors soon and I'll post some pics.

Welcome to CF! We have a pretty group here. Check out HRJC.org. Hampton Roads Jeep Club is a great local group and we can always use more XJ's! I think Red82 and I are doing some wrenching this weekend (if his schedule allows) so hit me up if you wanna just hang out.

If you want, come on out to the Club's next meeting at Uno's on Military Hwy and VaBch Blvd at 6:30pm, August 21st

Do you guys spend much time in the GWNF? Do you drive your rigs on further trips or trailer them?

My place is in Sugar Grove, WV which is right across the border near Reddish **** and Flagpole.

After I am set up with an xj, maybe we can head there for a weekend. Throw some pork butts in my electric smoker, go wheeling and come back to a nice dinner and cold beer.

That's awesome that you've got a place up there. I hit GWNF as often as possible and am up for wheeling where ever it's legal. As for driving the XJ, it doesn't ride no trailer. Heck, I'm planning for a CO trip in few years driving out there and back.

Glad you joined up with HRJC. I think I left a welcome on your page. It's a good group of people there. I think a couple of them could build a jeep from some scrap metal, a 9 volt battery, and a power wheels.
