Default Jacksonville, NC (help needed for my sister)

Hey all I'm sending a help call out for my little sister. She's a Marine stationed in Jacksonville, NC area. She's on her way down there now in her ZJ (Grand Cherokee, 4.0l NP249 t-case). With in the next few weeks sooner than later she needs a T-case replaced. And also finding a T-case to replace her's..

She's new to the military so budget is tight. She does have BIG plans for her ZJ and I'm guiding her build from here in Michigan. But I need help from you all my Jeeper friends for her..

Thanks Nick

Get one at a junk yard it's alot cheaper a new one can cost 1000s. But if she is planing on alot of offloading now would be a good time to swap in a different tc. The 249 is good as long as u stay on the road. It is a full time 4x4 tc which means u can run it in 4x4 full time. The 4x4 won't kick in until it slips a tire. That's great for the road but not offroad. Offroad u need a part time tc. That means u should only use 4x4 part of time or only on slippery or loss roads not blacktop. If she wants to swap the 231 and the 242 are good options. The 242 is a full and part time tc. The 231 is part time. I dont know what it takes to do the swap or how long it would take but I do know it can be done. Hope this helped.

She could really use a T-case and help installing ASAP....

She's not sure who to talk to or where to go to have this done and she has NO Tools of her own.

I'm not sure how big of a hurry you are in, but I'll be coming back in the area next week fomr my deployment. I could install it no problem, probably could do it at one of the hobby shops on base, they provide all the tools and a shop, so that I don't have to get stains all over my garage lol. Only costs like 2 dollars a hour to use the garage there and the tools are free.

you can shoot me an email at ndblack3893@gmail.com it's much faster than me being contacted on here.
