Disc Golfers???
Just wondering if there are any disc golfers in the mid Atlantic. Put your name, how long you've been playing, what level of player you are, type of thrower, what's in your bag (doesn't have to be all of them) favorite course, favorite disc, best/luckiest shot, and what are you trying to improve in your game. Maybe we can get some of us together for a Jeep Tourney or something.
Name: Matt Taylor
Playing for: 9 years
Level: I'd say I'm an Intermediate Amateur. I can usually walk away from a Par 3 course at about 6-8 under. Of course I do have those bad days occasionally.
Throw Type: 80% sidearm, 15% backhand, 5% overhand
In the Bag: I honestly keep about 20 discs on hand, but my 2 go-to's would have to be my Discraft Buzz and my Innova Groove.
Favorite Course: Out of the 12 or so I've played, I'd have to give Newport News Park in VA. It's a good mix of tight woods, open fields, dog legs, straight shots, and will be anything from a par 3 to a par 5. It's not a real challenging course, but it's a fun course that let's you keep your practice up.
Favorite Disc: Even though it's not one my "go-to's", I'd give the gold to my Lycan. It's not a driver by any means, but on a Par3 course it can't be beat. It's easily controllable and will do whatever you want it to, whether it be a perfectly straight shot or a hyzer/anhyzer.
Best/Luckiest Shot: I'd say it would be the "skip-in" ace I had last year at Bayville park in Virginia Beach. It's only a 280' throw, so very short, but just for the heck of it I used a Star TL. Threw it way to low - about 2 feet off the ground - but somehow it stayed up and went dead straight (as a TL should), skipped off a good size chunk of mulch and the next thing I heard was "CHING!" Certainly not my first nor best ace, but definitely a lucky one.
Trying to Improve: My putting. I know, it's the bane of all golfers (both ball and disc alike), but I've been looking into the Bi-Moto method and it looks interesting.

Yeah, I was just gonna let the thread die, but no, you had to come in and bring back to the top. Jerk But hey, don't knock the game if you've never tried it.

LOL, if it was at a basket with catch chains then yes. I'll be honest, it's the lazy version of regular golf, but I'm okay with that.
And Mike, just let me know when you want to try it. Munden has a good beginner course.

No, I've never thrown at a Basket with chains.
The the small College in my town has a course. It's a cute little course.
I see one of the baskets every now and then riding around town. Never seen anyone play it tho.

I've been playing for awhile. Still not good. I'm a bogie player. My favorite disc has to be my Roc!! Love that thing. I can put it where I need it. Favorite course was Hornets Nest (use to live 1/4 mile from it) now I moved to Iron Station so I need to find a new favorite.

I've been playing for 20 years, I used to live in rock hill and Winthrop gold course was my backyard. I live in Roanoke, VA now and there is the dinkiest little 9 hole, I hated SC but miss those courses... I play par 3 with an aviar, I like a buzz, groove, and wraith. I play 95% backhand with the occasional sidearm or hammer. When I played a lot I'd shoot around +5 on pro level courses and -5 on your average public course, par 3's could be anywhere from -8 to -15.
