Any experienced lifters willing to help lift 2" in Raleigh?
Hey guys, I'm 38, just bought my first Jeep, a '94 XJ sport, and I'm setting it up as an all-weather commuter/ family hauler.
I want to throw a 2" lift on my XJ and have never messed with leafs. I have swapped the shocks on an XJ which was easy, but I hear the leafs are a bear and my driveway is steep.
Anyone experienced want to help me install 2" springs and a 2" full leaf pack? And possibly help me install my ZJ Tie Rod upgrade I picked up?
Plans for this project are Bilsteins F&R, 2" front springs, 2" full leafs and ZJ Tie Rod. I want experienced lifters, for the things I don't know about, such as brake line travel, bump stops, etc.
If I don't get any responses, I'll probably take it somewhere, 4WP or whatever.
Thanks in advance!

Edit!
Nevermind, was wondering where you were but I didn't read the entire thread title.
I'd be glad to help you but it'd cost ya 200 in case to come down here. lol
Are you set on full leaf packs? I run a shackle in the back of mine on stock leafs to get the 2".
Other than that you shouldn't have to worry about anything. Maybe extend the bumpstops 2". The brake lines will be fine and the steering you have is a bolt on.
A good Saturday afternoon project.

EDIT: added my location to my profile, thanks for the reminder.
haha... If I were driving that far I'd roll down to Elberton and get my nephews to do it. Or I could get my cousins to help me, they are all over Abbeville. Trouble is, it drives like crap so I'd rather drive a Honda Ruckus that distance than take my Heep. EDIT: And yeah, I'm sure my leafs are crap after 170k, so I can get OME's 2" for less than $200, might as well do that instead of factory plus AAL, they gotta come off anyway.
I checked with 4WP this AM and they are way out of my price range. Definitely will be DIYing this so still looking for help. Preferrably someone with blocks and such, hah.

Hmm, I'm trying to think of who I know that could help you.
Over on NAXJA we have a bunch of SEC members up that way. Go over to NAXJA, post this same question up in the SEC Forum and I bet you'll find some help. Lots of experienced folks there.
Your last name wouldn't be McCurry would it? lol

4wp is retarded with their prices. If you can do it yourself it makes no sense to take it there. Unless you have more money than you know what to do with.
Plus that takes 90% of the fun out of owning a Jeep...

! wish you were closer, I'd be all over this.
One of the most rewarding things about jeep ownership is giving (and getting) help from fellow Jeep enthusiasts. Hell, i bought a 2" lift for my TJ 3 weeks after buying it and at the time had NO idea how/what to do to lift a Jeep. It was the kind hands of a few semi-local guys that really showed me what being a part of the jeep community is all about.
There's gotta be someone local/semi-local that can help ya out. GL!
