Modifications? Projects? Trips? Adventures?

As fall is approaching and Hurricane season is half over, my attention starts to turn to Winter as that is my next big arena for my business (sever weather filming) and probably when I will get to use the Jeep XJ the most. For years I have said I planned on covering the Lake Effect snow (LES), but for one reason or another I miss it. This year I really should be able to do well as this year is the first with the XJ and I doubt deep snow will keep me away.

Also want to gry my hand at snow camping in the mountains.

Mod wise I just need to get ready for recovery mode. Don't know if I'll go full winch yet, but definitly will install easy connection points for strapping up. Also will be finishing up the roof rack installation and gas can reserve storage. Also need to verify the heater is 100% as it seemed weak last season...but was really mild here (dc area) too.

What are your plans?

I need to get front recovery points. I was planning on a bumper with built in D-Rings but then I had to replace my ball joints and hubs so I spent my extra cash on that.

This winter I'm planning on parking it and doing some major work to it including: bumping up to a 6" lift and installing long arms, all new leafs in the rear (ditching the add a leafs), rebuilding my t case and installing a SYE if need be, and fixing some rust.

This spring she's going off the road for good and I'm buying a trailer to haul it with my tax return

See how she handles the snow with the lift and tires, and maybe find a few trails

I plan on having my white XJ lifted and 33's by the end of the year. I'm probably going to be taking the Goodyear Wrangler Radials and rims off my white one and put those on the blue one for winter. I should be good for both. these things are great in the snow regardless. My white one with bald street tires was still going through 2-3 feet of snow just fine.

I picked up a brand new set of Goodyear MTR's in 245/75/16 today for 300. I'll be mounting those up in November. I am going to order JKS upper control arms this week so since my bushings are bad and I plan on getting a bumper before December.

I just replaced my blower motor, and fixed my vacuum leak to the vacuum ball, so now the heater works and vents are selectable.
