Default Welding tutor in Eastern PA

Hello, I am 18 just getting out of highschool. I want to go to school for commercial welding, but i'd like to have some sort of welding knowledge/skill before I start and make sure its something I want to do. Plus, opens more opportunities for the Jeep =). I was wondering if anyone would be willing to teach me their welding knowledge and skills. I live in Allentown Pa; I prefer someone close, as my Jeep is my DD and gets 8.4mpg average. I'm easy to get along with and love to learn new skills. My name is Jake. Reply here or pm. Thanks

P.S. My dad has a basic stick welder I have access to if I please.

Yeah, but now I live in Hollidaysburg, its about 2 hours east from pittsburgh so like....4.5(?) hours away. I never welded stick before but I can lay down a sick MIG bead and I'm okay with TIG.

You should go to Rausch Creek with us the next time we go.

When do you think you will be going again?? I've never been truely offroading, we just mess around at local places like tryklers bridge. I would really like someone to follow through the park and show me the ropes of true offroading

Just keep your eye on the north atlantic section. ktmracer usually posts up a roll call thread when there will be our next meet an greet. He was talking about june sometime, but I know I'm probably not gonna be ready for that.

I won't be ready by then either. I still have to get a full size spare, recovery points, and brake line extentions..

That's it? I have to get an 8.8 rear, fab it so it bolts on, get a radiator, fix my steering, find out whats making my front tires wear like ****, and make rock sliders....all without having a welder.

Search brake line extensions on cf, I know there are a couple threads about them. Something about using yj lines or chevy lines or something like that. Or you could just get some SS ones.

Edit: and swap in a front axleshaft, one of mine is snapped in half
