Default Philly Airport

Anyone ever explore or go wheelin behind the philly airport? Theres not much to do with rocks or crawling, but the trails and mud make for some good laughs and dirtysmiles. I always see lifted broncos and fullsize blazers on the daily, and a few toyota pickup regulars, but not many jeeps. Im down to go any sunday if anyone is interested.

are you actually allowed to go back there? I hear yes then I hear no...Not sure if it is a "legal" spot or not?

To be honest, im not sure and never questioned it. There is a football field sized sand/dirt area when you first pull off the road and any given day there are a handfull of dirtbikes and quads ripping it up, all while police and security drive by and look. As long as they have helmets and stay off the road, they dont care. A little farther back is a decieving 100' trail that opens up into a wasteland. Illegal dumping and tires, so many tires lol. From the wasteland there are about a dozen or so trails that all interconnect in one way or another.

Every so often a muddy Philly Police Ford Explorer passes through, but they only care about people dumping trash, sometimes they even watch and laugh as we play in the mud. So i cannot say for sure if its legal, but you wont get hassled and living in the city its the closest place to do any decent wheelin.

Default philly's little secret

On the bottom right is the sandy area, follow the little trail on the right up, into the wasteland, and you can go anywhere from there. You can get to the trails from the left too, but my factory lift and tires cannot, its usually flooded You can get here from 95, Enterprise exit, left at the stop sign onto Fort Mifflin road, and about a 1/4 mile in you can just pull onto the sand and explore.

if you're ever up for a trip let me know...I'll see if a few friends want to tag along as well. I'm about 15 minutes from there so...better than an hour trip to jersey...lol

Used to go there when i had my explorer. There is a huge water/mud pit that has done in a few big Jeeps. Haven't been there in a couple of years. There used to be a bunch of burned out vehicles back in there.

Thumbs up illegal?

I went for about an hour yesterday, myself and a fullsize blazer. Besides us there were a dozen quads and dirtbikes and a pretty sick Tacoma. The police are on the other side of the fence and they just watch. As long as you don't set your truck on fire its all good. Cherokee96 let me know when you wanna go and I am there.

I can verify that i am 30 years old and have been going back there since ive had my license, without incident. Nor have i heard of any such "rock throwing or robberies". Kinda made me laugh actually. If im coming head on with a dirtbike or quad i give them room so the can keep their momentum and they just nod and spray mud Cherokee96 im down for tomorrow let me know what time. I was there on turkey day and there were a ton of puddles, hopefully they dried up some and theres more mud. Oh, and technically its in SouthWest Philly
