Can someone school me in making a new track bar? I have a OTK bracket, going to order a heim and insert for some 1" ID sch40 pipe and weld on a bushing.
Do y'all think schedule 40 pipe, 1" ID (1.315 OD, & .133 wall thickness) will be sufficient?
Also whats the opinion on 3/4" heim for top joint? Going to run rubber lower ..
As you may, or may not have seen my new steering pic posted a page or 2 back, my stock track bar location/angle is all dickered so it needs updated.

no ****ing way. Use DOM only.
Sch pipe or HREW will bend when you hit rocks or whatever. And since there's seams running along the length. Sometimes the seams burst open

Definitely recommend at least 3/16, preferably 1/4" wall thickness. Don't recommend poop pipe at all for steering use due to its brittleness and weaknesses. Poop pipe has its place..... But not for steering. I would recommend Dom or chromoly tube..... But I suppose you could get away with hrew if you bump the wall thickness up a little more..... Also recommend heims on both sides, any reason why you want the rubber?
