wheeling on private property is not gonna make them close public lands. destroying public land on the the other hand will, hence "tread lightly"

i agree with everything you just said there caged..its very important to do at least something to help insure that our kids and grandkids will have the same land to play on as we've had......but like royal xj said trespassing isn't really are problem around here (maybe a little problem with quads going into active pits during the day) the real problem is kids and older scumbags who use the pine barrens of new jersey as there own personal dump. the park service will ,and i've seen it done, close off access to a place when everybody starts partying back there and leaving behind tons of god only knows what...i think its safe to say that ignorance isn't the problem here because who doesn't know that dropping all of your garbage in the woods is illegal...it is an utter disregard for the forests and other people when these "jerks" put all of the crap they don't want in our woods.

if the private property crosses the trail you're running, and you don't have permission from the land owner of that private property, it will get open trails in the area closed. even if you didn't know there was private property there.
if there is a huge problem in the area, they will keep track of it. that helps in their decision making for other areas as well.

just because there is a trail, doesn't mean it's open land use. you have to know before you go.

but i guess it isn't a real problem down there. so have at it.

anyways, this thread kinda took a wrong turn. i apologize.

yeah the thread starter is probably like "wtf?" lol....but yeah i do know whatcha mean about the private property intersecting the legal state forest trails, its not to big of a deal though around here since almost all of the private property is owned by the cranberry companies like ocean spray and others but they don't want their land trashed just as much as the next guy... i guess you could say its kind of different around here with the whole land use debate..all of the jeepers stay out of it since there is already endless trails for us.. there is no place for the quads and dirtbikes to ride though, there was one OHV park and it was closed years ago, and now some savvy entrepreneur wants to open a new one and the residents that would be living near it are up in arms about the constant noise. needless to say the debate is all in the papers around here and all of the quad guys are shopping up at the town meetings and stuff.
