I'm Matt currently in Southern Maryland just got at 95 xj sport, bone stock any tips for a good first mod, will eventually lift and big tires

 

Replace every fluid - oil (5w-30), trans, coolant, transfer case (Dex/Merc III ATF), and both differentials (75W-90 Gear Oil).

What transmission?

 

Not sure of the transmission I was just excited to find a jeep in pretty good shape in Maryland, I'm originally from GA up here with the Navy, does the MVA here give temp tags if I am going to register out of state?

Hey, I'm James and I'm from Philadelphia but I'm always either down in Aston or up in the Poconos. I try and stay out of the city if I can. Anyway, I just got my first Jeep about a month ago. It's '98 XJ, totally stock right now. 4.0L, 6.0CYL, AW-4. It's got some issues I need to get fixed (death wobble, needs new exhaust, new passenger side door, and a bunch of minor things like the wiring for the locks and such) but it runs strong and I love it. Hoping I can meet some people here that can help me out with some of the issues so I can start modifying it and upgrading it, then I can start getting it muddy.

What is your criteria for what you want? Year? Transmission? Stock/Modded?

 

I'm down in Manassas. I'm looking for an XJ 2 or 4 door. Preferably Auto. Modded with lift/tires. W/ maintenance records.

I'm pretty stoked to get into a jeep.
