Hello everyone, our names are Dustin and Cindy and we live in Cortland County, NY. We just recently bought another Jeep, got it in "as is" condition for an off road project. We bought a 97 Jeep Cherokee Country 4X4 with the 4.0L V6, we couldn't beat the price of $1000 with only 100,000 miles and not a single ounce of rust. The Jeep is fully undercoated but wasn't in running condition. The list of things we did to it to make it what it is now is way too long to post on here lol. I will attach a photo though. We're looking to meet up with other Jeep enthusiast and find some good trails, we both work from home so getting out to enjoy a trail at anytime would be easy. Enough babbling though, here's the almost finished product that is now our daily driver.Name: f4a24e01.jpg

Welcome! Though one thing you may want to watch is that the 4.0 is an I6. All the pistons are inline, as opposed to 3 on each side creating a V. Some people will call you out in that. Either way, lucky that it's got no rust seems like a great buy!

Yea I kinda wondered what the guy was talking about at the store lol, It's my first older jeep. I had a 2005 Jeep Liberty piece of garbage before this. That jeep always had something wrong with it no matter how much I kept an eye on it and maintained it but since I got this older model I haven't had a single problem with it. Hope to make a great daily driver/ off road project.

Yeah the 3.7 L weren't as good as the 4.0's. As long as you change the fluids it won't die lol. What all would you like to do with it?

lift it a good 4" put some better tires and wider fenders, a paint job not sure what color yet, redo the interior and get it as muddy as i can without getting stuck too bad or blowing her up lol
