Whats the biggest lift we can run street legal?? I know the state went away with safety inspections and just run the emissions! Do you guys get messed with for having lifts over 4.5?? And another question.. what size lift would I need to fit 33's without trimming any fenders?? 4.5"?? or bigger??.. Im not trying to get hasseled jus bc of having a lift. Im really not going to do any hardcore wheeling. But I just love the look of the lifted Cherokee's.. Any input wuld be appreciated

I sent you a PM on this . with a 3" lift and cutting and rolling the fenders you can fit 33"'s on there with no problem. also with only going 3" you dont have to extend the brake lines and can go pretty much stock with everything else.

yes they did away with inspections. i went threw with no doors, barely any brakes, 3' lift and 31s no problem as long your emissions are good. now i'm at 5'' with 33s that stick out about 6'' from my cut fenders, i still haven't gotten anything but waves from cops (knock on wood). the biggest legal lift you can have in new jersey is 6'' over stock height. now i'm not positive if that includes tire size as well since you gain a couple inches from bigger tires. as far as tire size goes, the rule is no bigger then 6'' over the stock tire size. so 6'' lift and 33s would be theoretically the highest you could go, to answer your question about 33s without trimming, you'll need at least 6'' of lift to clear 33s without trimming, i'm at 5'' with my fenders cut and i still rub a little bit at full flex.

I went through Bakers Basin with my 96 2 Door. 6.5" lift with 33's, have fender flares and did trimming of course. Didn't even care, just checked emissions.
