Red face Mechanically inclined in SouthJersey?

We have a couple things we want to do to the engine area and wanted to know if anyone here had some time on the weekends to help teach us how to do some things. Nothing major, but we don't know much (accept for changing tires, I could change my oil if needed and cosmetic stuff).

We would want to find out what parts we should consider getting, get them, then come back and learn how to put them on. We are going to attempt things with readings from books and such but if we get stuck...we have no where to turn.

We can't pay much for your time...maybe a 6pack and pizza or something like that, but we would love to have some new friends and learn as much as we can.

Let me know if you are interested. We are fun people (my husband and I) and even though I'm a chick, I don't mind a bit of grease under my nails

*We live in Blackwood in an apartment so we can't do much work on our Jeep here and would have to come to your home.

If this helps you could probably find help from a local wheelin' club and make some friends their. I know the guys/girls in my local club are all really friendly and willing to help. Other than that, I think there are about 2 other people from your area here. I just don't know there names. I'd help but I'm in CT, nor do I know much of anything about the mechanical aspect of any car...

What are you looking to do exactly to your jeep? I am located in marlton and could maybe give you a hand.

We definitely need the following done:

- rear u-joint needs replacing
- valve cover gasket needs replacing
- driver side window motor works but window won't go up or down.

If you can help with any of those things and definitely know what you are doing, I'd love to have you over to help out Can only really afford to pay you with some drinks and food or whatever. If thats cool. PM me and we can swap info, Thanks.

p.s. I'm in Blackwood so I'm close to you

those are all fairly simple things to replace.

if you can change your oil, i'm sure you can change a u joint or valvecover gasket with the help of this forum.

If you were closer i could lend a hand

Oh I know, but I'm the type that needs to SEE something being done to learn best how to do it. It's hard for me to just go by pics and what I read. Plus it'd be nice to befriend someone who is mechanically savy.

You know?
