I want five 31" Firestone Destination M/Ts. For now, I'm looking for five 30"-32" all-around-capable aggressive tires until I can get what I really want. I still need wheels to put them on, though. Looking for Soft 8s or D-Windows 15x8 with 3.75-4.25" BS. The kicker is I'm trying to get all of it for no more than $250.

Once I get wheels and tires, I'll stop scouring CL, and you won't be bothered anymore lol
Your looking for black steelies (Soft 8's) and 31's right???
I'll keep my eyes open on the other forums...
Mike

Thanks, Mike. I've been scouring 6 different cities on CL, for a dozen key words, several times per day. I've also been watching Vendor and For Sale here, and on jeepforum, jeepz, cherokeetalk, and ebay. I just don't see the point of buying tires that aren't good. I'm being patient and waiting for someone who doesn't know what their stuff is worth.

I got real lucky w/my rims. Guy traded me straight up for 5 stockers
Got the tires off of this forum for $500, w/ less than 500 road miles on them. Retailed for over $1000
I have CL set up on my phone, will make a post if anything pops up...

I've been looking at retreads from Treadwright, Will probably go with a set from them. 105$ a tire for 31's can't go wrong.

I have a good set of 225/75/15 winters (that I'll be using Saturday) and a decent set of 215/75/15s that I run on the street. I'm about to do a bastard lift, though, and I don't want to look ridiculous for too long

hah, I ran around with those tires on my RE3.5 lift for over a year. They didn't look that goofy. The 31's do fill things out a tiny bit better, though they need replacing as you'll see this weekend.

Saw one of those opportunities today...but the guy is in Utah
I appreciate any leads you find.

I've read good and bad things from them. IIRC, they didn't have any treads I liked. Is there one you recommend?

I don't have my lift on yet. If you somehow didn't notice in Edgewood, you'll see it when I try not to tear through another muffler this weekend.

I don't believe I've met you before. The only person from this board I've met is anya before his jeep exploded.

As for retread, I'm gonna get the "Guard Dog M/T" tires. I've poked around and lots of jeep guys like em and they wear really really well apparently. The only complaint I found was that the lugs are a bit to close together to really be "mud tires".

My buddy had em on his ZJ before he sold em, he loved em. He had some horrid luck with his jeep, tore the rod bearings up, blew out 2 of his tires on an unseen piece of road shrapnel. Course he also drove the thing like he stole it and buried it nose first in water/mud on more then one occasion.
