The only reason that I wanted a credit card was to easily build credit. I only use it for school purchases like gas and books. I've never used it for anything else.

Sold the old tires on the zj already, $200 they're probably worth more but I'd rather them be gone. Going to use some of the money to get the zj an alignment.

The wife and I share a credit card (capital one visa signature). We have been filtering almost every purchase over the last few years through it. It's a rewards card too, and we built up enough points to pay for our entire honeymoon lodging (5 nights in oceanfront 2 level suite on Anguilla) and one of our airfares - free and clear.

There are HUGE benefits to using credit cards (especially for piece of mind for unexpected costs that may come up), so long as you control your spending and use it like you would a bank card.

 

That's the plan.

 

yup, the rewards cards are the way to go. Got one for Southwest, good deal for us seeing how we travel a good bit.
