I want to flush my trans before the trip cause I feel like the fluid has seen better days. I haven't changed fluid since I bought it, and I've overheated the engine over a dozen times.

$190 for a transmission flush (non-pressurized, using trans pump), fill, and pan drop, cleaning, and gasket replacement.

Sounds fair?

 

Yeah I have been hearing that the AW4 doesnt like pressurized flushing. Why would it be any different than other automatics? Or is this another case of one guy getting bad service and all of a sudden flushing is the devil?

i should get mine done sometime. it's at 229000 and i don't know i the PO ever did it. doesn't hurt anyway.

 

I've heard a lot of bad things about flushing. Specifically, a back flush shoots all the debris out from the filter and back into the system. It's also far more pressure than the system is used to, and it can break things that are otherwise fine.

That's just from what I read online, but I made sure to ask if they use a pressurized back flush or just use the trans pump.

I'm just wondering about the price.

Sounds about right to me, especially if they're gonna drop the pan. That dipstick tube can be a ***** to separate.
