So a few minutes after I left work my "gen" light came back on...so since I have the dummy lights I went back to work...made a couple wires to plug my multimeter into the fuse box....now I have a volt meter lol

it's possible to leave it intact, but hard to get it out. you can leave enough to splice it together.
