Question, is it worth upgrading the 30 and 35 with gears/lockers/axles or just building up JY housings? The 8.8 upgrade is to gain higher spline count and the possibility of better gearing right? I wouldnt mind reconditioning a JY housing to save money I just dont want to re-engineer the ABS system onto the new housing.....

Gears are easy enough to change, I have 3.55 now but I have to look into the ABS stuff. PM me what your thinking...

actually frosty, what I can really use now is a pair of drive shafts. I want a pair to blast and powder coat and press new joints in to replace the ones under mine. Looks like the PO did some beaching and salt water driving and didnt bother to wash it off. It is some of the worst rust I have ever seen.

I guess while I have all that room under there I better bedline.

My list is now as follows;
1st- power steering pump.
2nd- uni joints for front drive shaft
3rd- upgraded transfercase linkage.
Hopefully before August 18th.
sounds like you have the same issues i have...

i am still driving 2WD because of the joints in my driveshaft. some shop downtown wants about $275 to rebuild. i got the rear done by them and they did a great job but i dont have the money to kick out for the front yet.

and i pulled a powersteering pump from the junk yard that is waiting to go in.

anddddddd..... nothings wrong with my TC ...yet... lol.
