They sell all the stuff to neck up or down, just have to decides what your doing, you mentioned header, why dont you get a high flow cat and just match everything to the header collector size, end up with a nice flowing exhaust

Crate motor not an option?its cheaper to buy fresh than buy used install, then remove and pay to have it freshened up... and who needs wiring harnesses... just go carbisaurus, less to worry about...

crate motor for an LS1 or a LS3 which is what I would want to is a lot more than just getting one and cleaning it up a bit. I'd rather just keep it fuel injected.

what do you mean by "cleaning it up a bit" when I was talking "freshening it up" I am talking Hot tank, bore/hone/line bore/hone/ fresh seals/bearings/rings....depending on age you may want to deck it also.

Depending on what you plan to do with it, I would not bore it out too much because the cylinder walls get thin and alot of heat is tranferred into the coolant same goes for a stroked motor, the more gas you push through it the more heat is generated. Along the same note I would definitely recommend staying with a iron head because if you do run it hot and possibly overheat iron wont warp but aluminum does and at around 1200-1400 bucks for heads its a very expensive mistake...

I'm going to keep it mostly stock, and most mods will be bolt ons.

as for cleaning it up. I'll probably just clean it up, and make sure it's in good running condition. one of those LSx engines don't need boring to be a good strong motor.

I know what Jamal looks like, but I still stared at that picture for a solid minute thinking it was a total chop job. Hood, windshield, half doors with no roof or hatch.

when i was helping him on your XJ, he was trying to get the TC off, and ther bolts on the crossmember were stuck. so it's going to be a tough one getting that TC out. unless you just pull it out along with the engine/trans.

Probably not, but you won't know til your lift is on. I have two TC drops if you need one.
